Tree conservation is a core part of our mission, where we raise our voices against the cruelty inflicted on trees and advocate for their proper care. This includes opposing the harmful practice of using trees for advertisements and hoardings, which damages their health and aesthetics. We have taken legal steps through the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the High Court to prevent further harm, and we actively engage in restoration efforts for tree roots that have been damaged due to urbanization and infrastructure development.In addition to tree conservation, we are committed to raising awareness about effective waste management. This involves shedding light on the growing challenges of waste disposal, especially in urban areas, and advocating for better conditions for waste pickers who play a crucial role in recycling and sanitation.Our commitment to environmental sustainability is further reflected in the organization of eco-friendly events. One notable achievement was transforming the Lidbad Mela into a waste-free event, a feat that earned appreciation from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Nagrota Bhagwan.
Animal Welfare
Animal welfare is a vital aspect of building a compassionate and safe community. One important initiative involves educating people on how to interact with animals in a respectful and non-threatening manner. This helps reduce instances of aggression and fosters a more harmonious coexistence between humans and animals.To address the immediate needs of stray animals, feeding drives are regularly conducted. These not only ensure that animals have access to food but also create awareness about their plight and encourage public participation in their care.Another significant effort includes the installation of reflectors on stray cows. This simple yet effective measure helps prevent nighttime accidents by making the animals more visible to drivers, thereby reducing the risk of injuries to both animals and humans.
Disaster Relief
In times of natural disasters, we take on the role of mediators by coordinating with various organisations to arrange and distribute essential supplies to affected communities. Our aim is to ensure timely support reaches those in urgent need, bridging the gap between donors and victims with efficiency and empathy.A key focus of our disaster relief efforts is providing menstrual hygiene kits to women in affected areas. Menstrual health is often neglected during emergencies, yet it is a critical aspect of dignity and well-being. By addressing this overlooked issue, we strive to uphold the basic rights and health needs of women during crisis situations.
