Our Story

Crayash
We started our journey by advocating against cruelty to trees, witnessing the suffering of roadside trees in Himachal Pradesh due to negligence and human interference. Through persistent efforts, we brought the issue to the attention of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the Shimla High Court. However, the real challenge lies in ensuring the proper implementation of orders and fostering a shift in public mindset.

Over time, our mission expanded beyond tree protection to encompass critical social and environmental issues. We actively work on waste management, antibiotic resistance awareness, menstrual health, animal welfare, the Crayash Book Bank, and disaster relief. With each initiative, we strengthen our commitment to building a healthier and more sustainable future.
The name "Crayash" comes from the Mandiyali language, spoken in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. It signifies the moment when darkness fades into a new dawn or when a storm settles, leaving behind peace and freshness.
Inspired by this meaning, Crayash stands as a symbol of hope and positive change. We are dedicated to protecting the environment, caring for animals, and improving community well-being. Through our initiatives, we strive to bring light after every challenge, ensuring a better and more sustainable future for all.
